After hearing countless white people try to explain to me over the years that there’s a difference between black people (clean, educated, wealthy) and niggers (poor, uneducated, “don’t talk right”), I sincerely believe that this Chris Rock bit was one of the worst things to happen to black-white relations in the ’90s.
Every now and again I'll think about this day when a kid wearing cleats stomped on my hand on the playground. I thought I could see the bone in my middle finger. I can't remember anymore if I could actually see the bone, but time will do that.
